Workflow to Merge Multiple M2TS Files into One M2TS File
When I take a video of an event I would stop recording from time to time. Every time I stop recording, the video camera would save the recorded video as a separate video clip. If I stop 10 times, I will get 10 video clips in 10 m2ts files. I would like to merge multiple m2ts files into one file so that I can play on HDTV or upload to YouTube.
I tried Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter to convert M2TS to another video format like MOV from the HD video profile, but the quality is far away from the quality in the original M2TS file. After playing around the M2TS joiner, I figure out the best way to get video in high quality HD.
Below is the workflow about how I merge M2TS files into one M2TS file. Hope it helps others who want to get M2TS file from several video clips.
Step 1. Load AVCHD files to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter as the best M2TS combiner, and click the "Add" button to load multiple .m2ts files. You may also drag and drop the AVCHD video clips to program UI. To change the output file name, just click the first name in the Destination File column and enter a new name, which will be used as the output file name for the merged video clip.
Step 2. Choose HD TS format.
Click the "Format" option and choose HD Video > MPEG-TS HD Video(*.ts) as output format. The default output video profile would use AC3 as audio codec and H.264 as video codec in 1920x1080 high definitions.
Step 3. Join M2TS files.
Check the box for "Merge into one file", and the M2TS joiner will combine the videos clips according to the sequence on the file list window. If you would like to change the ranking or sequence, just select a video clip and click "Move up" or "Move down" button.
Step 4. Merge multiple M2TS files into one.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the M2TS joiner will start exporting .ts file.
When the conversion is finished, just change the file extension from .ts to .m2ts, and the HD file with M2TS provide high quality video. Hope it helps you find the best way for merging AVCHD MTS or M2TS files on Windows computer.
If your AVCHD videos are recorded in interlaced mode like 1080/50i or 1080/60i, it is recommended that you deinterlace videos. Just click the Editor button and check the box for deinterlacing under the Effect tab before starting the conversion.
