Canon FS200 MOD to Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD with 16:9 Widescreen
I'm stuck with Canon FS200 camera for shooting videos for my client projects. I need to edit 16:9 .mod footage in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD, which is a cut down version of Sony Vegas Pro. I need to convert the Canon FS200 MOD files to MPG with original 16:9 aspect ratio for editing.
Fortunately, I find Aunsoft Video Converter for my Windows computer to get HD videos in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD, and I figure out the way to make the videos appear as 16:9. If you have any problem like the video is squeezed or without the right aspect ratio, you may follow the guide below about how to keep Canon FS200 MOD 16:9 in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD.
Step 1. Load Canon MOD to Aunsoft Video Converter.
After the .mod files are copied and transferred from Canon FS200 to PC hard drive, run Aunsoft Video Converter as the top-notch Canon FS200 to Sony Vegas converter on Windows. Click the "Add" button to load the .mod footage or drag and drop the .mod files to the application UI for conversion.
Step 2. Choose MPG format.
Click the "Format" option and choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MPEG-2 (*.mpg) as output format. With the default profile, you will keep the original video resolution and mp2 audio for editing in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD.
Step 3. Keep 16:9 widescreen.
Actually the profile we select in the step 2 will keep the original aspect ratio. In case that you would choose other output format, you can also keep 16:9 aspect ratio. Click the "Editor" button and tick the checkbox for "Keep Original Aspect Ratio" to keep Canon FS200 mod16:9 widescreen.
Step 4. Convert Canon FS200 MOD to MPG for Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Canon FS200 MOD converter will start converting 16:9 MOD to 16:9 MPG for Sony Vegas.
After the conversion, import the HD videos to Sony Vegas and adjust the Project Properties of the video file. Go to PROPERTIES for the MPG clip, choose to change it to NTSC Widescreen and make sure the check box for "Maintain Aspect Ratio" is ticked. The videos will show up as widescreen.
If you would like to import DVD videos from other cameras, or the burned videos to Sony Vegas for editing, you may find Aunsoft Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate useful.
