Import Panasonic TM700 1080/60p to Avid for editing
The 1920x1080 60p recording mode is the selling point for Panasonic HDC-TM700K AVCHD camcorder. However, the .mts fils with 1080/60p at 28Mbps from the TM700 are not AVCHD standard compliant. The bit rate for AVCHD standard profile is 17Mbps, and 24Mbps for AVCHD high profile. Even though some comment saying it is possible to edit 1080i HD videos shot with the TM700, Avid Media Composer or even Avid MC 5 does not support importing 1080/60p or 1080/50p videos from TM700.

After googling the fast solutions to edit Panasonic TM700 1080/60p 28Mbps Videos in Mac Avid MC, I find Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac the top-rated Panasonic AVCHD converter on Mac OS X like Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard. It is easy to transcode 1080/60p MTS to H.264 MOV in high quality.

Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the perfect Mac Panasonic MTS to Avid MC converter, and click the "Add" button to load the .mts videos from hard drive disk.

Step 3. Choose H.264 MOV format.
Click the "Format" option, and navigate the mouse cursor to Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov) as output format. The output profile enables you to convert Panasonic 1080/60p MTS to MOV for editing in Avid Media Composer 5.

Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac TM700 to Avid MC converter will start transcoding 1920x1080 60p MTS to Avid MC on Mac conversion immediately.

After the conversion is finished, just run Avid Media Composer and import the HD H.264 MOV file in 1920x1080 for creating a new movie and film.

Tips:
1. The output videos are compatible with other Non-linear editing system like Final Cut Pro, FCE4, iMovie, Kdenlive, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Roxio Toast, to import the HD videos on Mac without compatibility issue.

2. For users with Windows Avid MC 5, you can use the Windows version of Panasonic AVCHD converter to edit HD videos.
