Deinterlace Mac MTS to QuickTime H.264 MOV for Avid
Sony HXR-MC1P POV camcorder records HD videos in AVCHD format (.mts) with MPEG 4 AVC / H.264 as video codec. Even if this 1080i compact HD camera does not capture videos progressively, the 1920 x 1080, 60i and 1440x1080, 60i profiles provides perfect for POV images. It is good for sports shooting, and shooting small animals or wildlife at interesting angles.
After shooting videos, you may find the Sony .mts files could not be imported to Avid Media Composer. It is necessary to convert to MTS files to a codec that the avid can understand. Avid supports QuickTime movie files, .DV, .AVI, and .MP2. Here we can use Mac MTS to Avid converter to convert AVCHD MTS files to QuickTime H.264 MOV format.
Step 1. Load MTS videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Transfer .mts videos from Sony camera to Apple hard drive, run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the AVCHD to Avid converter, and click the "Add" button to load Sony mts videos.
Step 2. Choose MOV for Avid.
Click the Format option and choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov) as output video format. The AVC codec is actually the H.264 video codec. The Mac application will automatically use the original video bit rate and frame size for keeping high quality with original resolution.
Step 3. Convert AVCHD to QuickTime MOV.
Click the convert button and the conversion from AVCHD MTS to QuickTime H.264 MOV will start right away.
The Mac MTS to Avid converter will convert the Sony HXR-MX1 HD 1080i .mts videos to 1080p QuickTime .mov videos, with the automatic deinterlacing function for you to easily edit on Avid Media Composer, or Avid Xpress Pro.
1. Sony HXR-MC1P is the POV camera model in UK, while Sony HXR-MC1/ACC is the model in USA.
2. As you can see from the step2 with format profiles, the output H.264/AVC MOV could be loaded to Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro and iMovie as you like.
